Advertising Specialties for Construction Companies
Hollywood has taught us that almost every experience growing up is a meaningful one, which is evidenced by the scores of "coming of age" movies that we had to sit through if you were a child/adolescent growing up anytime between 1985 and 2000. While there weren't nearly as many dramatized events as we all actually grew older, there are even less as we settle into day to day adulthood. For most of us in the professional world, our lives are pretty predictable. We don't expect any major career changes, and many of us are just fine living out the day to day routine with the occasional good times that happen on weekends or by happy mistake.
Why are we droning on about coming of age stories? Because in the world of the professional salesperson, there are the occasional coming of age tales that do remind us that we are alive, and one happened just today before I sat down to write this web page about advertising specialties for construction companies.
We have a close friend down here in Florida, where we are based. Let's call him Curt. (because that's actually his real name, hi Curt). Curt is THE professional salesperson that your company wants. He's easygoing, always on time, and the customers love him. He's always been that way. Despite his professional attributes, he's always had lower level sales jobs, mainly telemarketing work, for many years. By now he's about 50 years of age, and Curt hasn't gotten to experience the bonuses or any of the positive attributes that often come with the territory of being a career salesperson. It's been all work and no play for poor Curt.
Curt recently took a chance on a new job, and almost instantly started making a better income than ever before. It was a construction supply company that took a chance on ol' Curt, and everyone that knew of his hiring and his past history knew that he'd do very well. He's been a company man for a couple months now, and both he and his new employer are very happy.
Why am I telling you this story? Because at around 4 pm, I received a text that warmed my heart. Curt had finally received the gift and excitement that only professional salespeople in certain industries get to experience. I half expected, looking down at my phone, that it was going to be him asking me to grab a burger later, or for me to fill in on drums for his viking themed heavy metal band, as I've done so many times before. It wasn't. It was something truly special, a milestone in every salesperson's life, no matter the age, race, creed, or economic background. What was it?
At age 50, Curt had officially been invited to work the Vegas concrete expo.
Vegas is, simply put, a magical place for trade shows and conventions- it merges the best of business with the best of entertainment and socializing with new friends from all over the country, or sometimes the world.
Congrats Curt, you're going to do very well in Vegas, try not to have too much fun!
In honor of Curt's success, please find some of our favorite concrete and construction themed advertising specialties, along with buttons below each selection if you want to order some of these items customized with your company logo.
